Geotechnical drilling, dredging and spoil management

Marine Drilling & Dredging

We mobilise barge-mounted drilling and dredging plant for marinas, ports, canals, river frontages and private waterfronts. Work covers geotechnical and pile-hole drilling, capital and maintenance dredging, berth-box deepening, siltation and weed removal, and licensed spoil handling — with survey, environmental controls and permit support built into the scope.

Plant mobilisation

Overview

Dredging and marine drilling live or die on approvals and volumes. We survey first, quantify the cubic metres properly, then choose plant that suits the site rather than whatever is on the yard.

Environmental controls — silt curtains, turbidity monitoring, dewatering and licensed disposal — are built into the scope, and we prepare the documentation your council, port authority or state agency needs to approve the work.

Material classification drives most of the cost. We sample and classify before mobilisation so sand, silt, clay, rock and any contaminated fraction are priced and disposed of correctly, rather than discovered halfway through the campaign.

Marine construction sits alongside the dredging fleet: pile driving and extraction, pontoon and gangway installation, seawall and revetment repair, mooring and screw-anchor installation, boat-ramp reconstruction and demolition of failed structures. One contractor, one program, one set of approvals.

What's included

  • Barge-mounted geotechnical and pile-hole drilling
  • Cutter-suction, excavator and airlift dredging
  • Pre- and post-dredge hydrographic survey
  • Silt curtains and environmental controls
  • Spoil dewatering, cartage and licensed disposal
  • Permit and approval documentation support

Typical jobs

  • Marina berth-box and channel maintenance dredging
  • Boat ramp, canal and river-mouth siltation removal
  • Geotechnical investigation for wharf and pile design
  • Capital works deepening for new berths

Every engagement is scoped and quoted individually. Send us the details and we'll come back with a written quotation.

How the engagement runs

Our process

  1. 01

    Hydrographic survey

Pre-dredge survey establishes existing bed levels and true volumes.

  2. 02

    Approvals support

Permit documentation, REF input and environmental management plans prepared.

  3. 03

    Plant selection

Cutter-suction, excavator, airlift or drilling rig matched to site access and material.

  4. 04

    Execution

Works run with silt curtains, turbidity monitoring and daily production records.

  5. 05

    Post-dredge survey

Verification survey and volume reconciliation issued with disposal dockets.
